Gorges De L'Herault

My cousin and his wife came to visit me from the states. We took a ride down this beautiful gorge . I have been here 7 months and still marvel at the ancient structures. Enjoy the next 3 pictures.

wow, these photos look so very "south of france" to me, even with my limited experience there. i need to look on a map to see just where you are in relation to where i've been.

i picked up a book over the weekend about my dear mad, sad van gogh (a personal fave of mine -- i can't seem to read enough about his life in provence), and the second photo down is of a scene i think he would paint. all that flowing rock, scrubby bushes, and a lone man-made structure.

Hey fronnnko, These were taken while we were driving through Gorges De L'Herault. It was a beautiful drive.
If you break out a map stick your finger on the Mediterranean coast between Spain and Italy and you'll see Montpellier. Its a great town if you ever get the chance to go.

wow -- that's not far from where we visited: arles and the surrounding region, and down to the coast. we may have even talked of going there on one of our day trips, but i think we ran out of time. no wonder it looks like provence to me -- it is!
